~ and excerpt from "Get Out of Your Mind... and Into Your Heart!"
A long, long time ago, the Creator,
In addition, who knows how many Great Beings?
Gave the People language
At this time stories were born.
Stories mirror our world
At the same time they are like
Rays of sunlight
Illuminating the dark places
So that we can see more clearly
...without our stories,
We would be lost.

We begin, and up and out of this beginning, comes a beautiful love story. This is that story.
Once upon a time, there was a young maiden. She began to come into the fullness of the awareness of one’s self at around age 7. This is the time when children approach the end of “magical” years. However, if they are within a society and bound by all its precepts and rules, children begin to grow away from the magic that does truly exist and they begin to become enmeshed in the “realities” of the adult world. A world that is, for the most part, purely realistic materialism where science dictates all events and experience and if it cannot, then magic and magical beings in the form of angels, spirits, fairies, and other mystical creatures cannot therefore exist... with the exception of within the context of fairytale stories. This becomes our first great mistake!
The little maiden was seven years old and to her just being here, in this strange body was entirely too magical to even begin to understand. She would gaze at herself in the mirror in awe and wonderment, and it always felt like a strange unbelievable reality. She would gaze at her face and she always felt estranged between what she knew she was as a spirit inside, with thoughts and feelings; and the face and body in the reflection. “Mirror, mirror….. Is that truly me?” she would ask in amazement.
The little maiden, when she realized her body, also realized her heart, and that too was also a great mystery to her. Her heart to her, felt so deep and dark and full of mystery, because her love for everything was so big. At times, she felt she could just fall right into the middle of that deep love and lose herself entirely. However, there was another something there, in that deep love... she just could not understand it yet. It was a being.... of great mystery, ethereal, and present like a ‘wisp’ of fog... but it was somehow familiar and she knew it. She knew it well, and in some ways, that ‘wisp of spirit’ felt like her, of her body, within, around and woven through all of her like a thread is woven through a tapestry. She felt this presence around her at all times, like a best friend that was in constancy with her. She would dance and sing and talk with this spirit all the time. She was never lonely and she felt like she had a best friend with her always.
This spirit need not ever appear or answer back. They would communicate at times, without a word spoken and she felt safe and content with this friendship. For, even though this friend was invisible, he was very much there, and he was very much a male. He must have been her Guardian Angel or Spirit Guide, she would think as the years passed and she began to have a better understanding of the outside world, but she never knew to think of him in that way, in her younger years. In addition, his being male helped her to understand that he definitely was not of her own being, but separate and more a guardian entity. He felt as if he was of everything through in and throughout, infused in all. But these were concepts that were far too large for a small child.
The presence felt near to her most times. Sometimes she would talk to this invisible friend and she was comfortable and felt safe with this presence around her. It would be nearly a lifetime before she would be able to be in a place in her life where she could come to understand just who this presence was.
As the young maiden began to grow up, the deep mystery of love and the being who was within that deep mysterious love she held became more familiar. She was in love with being in love, but she still was not of the mind to understand the wherewithal and implications. So as she progressed through her life, this special presence receded with the exception of the picture in her mind’s ‘eye’, which she had as a vision when she was five. It was a picture of a beautiful shining knight with long golden hair, dressed in his armor and standing in front of a tree.... a redwood tree because that was not only her favorite tree, but those magnificent trees were also dear to her from her family’s ancestral home in the redwood forest.
This was a vision that was given to her by Spirit and it was such a magical, beautiful image in her mind’s ‘eye’ that she protected it well, never speaking a word to anyone about her vision so no one would know of its existence, and it would always be safe and untouched by any other. This was her prize and hers alone. Therefore, this vision was to remain a secret treasure gifted to her by Spirit and she would keep it near and dear to her throughout her growing up years. The only being that knew about her knight in shining armor was GodSpirit.
As our maiden grew up, the vision would fade, only to return for brief flickers of a moment, to remind her that he was still there awaiting her, only to then fade back into the shadows again… to wait…. until, the timing was just right. Timing is everything!
